Ekk Deewana Tha promotional song

The much awaited music composed by A R Rahman for the movie Ekk Deewana Tha was released on 22nd December. The music launch was held with the Taj Mahal as the back drop.

Galatta.com has the song 'Hosanna' from the movie which is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Prateik and Amy Jackson. the album is released under the Sony Music label.

Agneepath all over !!!

The second theatrical trailer of the Agneepath is all set to be unveiled. Karan Johar tweeted about the launch of the second theatrical trailer. He tweeted "Will upload the new theatrical promo of AGNEEPATH 2mor...".

The theatrical trailer of the Hrithik starrer will be hitting the theatres with Don 2. The first theatrical trailer being a massive hit, fans are eager to see the second trailer.

Agneepath features Hrithik Roshan in the lead with Priyanka Chopra. The film also features seasond actors Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor. The film is all set to hit the screens on January 26, 2012.

David: Bejoy Nambiar's next

Bijoy Nambiar of Shaitaan fame is all set to start work on his next movie David. The movie will star south star Vikram, who made his Bollywood debut as a cop in Mani Ratnam's Raavan.

Interestingly Bejoy has earlier assisted Mani Ratnam in Guru and Raavan. David is rumoured to be a complete gangster look which will be shot in a never-seen-before set up. The film is likely to go on floors by mid 2012. More details of the project is awaited.

Aaranya Kaandam inspires Anurag Kashyap

Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap, poster boy of the Indian New Wave Cinema, feels that Chennai is the birthplace of a new language in cinema. The Dev D director also revealed that Tamil films have always inspired him to think different. He was also in praise for Tamil directors Bala, Ameer and Sasikumar for their out-of-box ideas. Guess which is the recent Tamil film that took his breath away? It's Kumararaja's Aaranya Kaandam.

Pritam to compose music for Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

Dharma Productions has roped in music director Pritam to compose the music for Ayan Mukerji's next film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Ayan's debut film Wake Up Sid had music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, but for his second film he insisted on getting Pritam on board.

This will be the first time Pritam will be working with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

Big B awarded Maharashtrian of the Year- the Maanbindu

In his illustrious career, Amitabh Bachchan has been bestowed with several awards and yesterday the actor was honoured yet again with the Maanbindu- the Maharashtrian of the Year award. The award was given to Big B by President of India- Smt. Pratibha Patil at a function in Mumbai. Thespian Dilip Kumar too was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the same function.

Big B tweeted, "And today among all the thoughts another award - The Maharashtrian of the Year, the Maanbindu, for me from the President of India. Have spent 3/4ths of my life, 42 years in my 70, in this city and State ... all that I have today has come to me from Mumbai."

Sohail hires Balvinder Singh to train his Mumbai Heroes

They say that 'Practice makes a man perfect'. True to this saying, Sohail Khan (whose celebrity cricket team 'Mumbai Heroes' made its debut last year) is now all geared up to be back with a bang and how! He has now hired the former Indian Test cricketer Balvinder Singh Sandhu to train his team for the second season that will start in January. News is that they've now been doing net practice for over five weeks.

Sohail candidly admitted that back then, they (the team) went unprepared as they thought of it as a friendly match. It's only after that they realized that even the matches at the celebrity league are played with a high degree of competition. Hence, this time, they want to be prepared and equipped. The icing on the cake is that Salman Khan will be playing one of the matches for he knows the game well.

Meanwhile, the team's Captain Suniel Shetty said that they (the team) do a lot of stretching exercises to prevent any injuries and that during the batting sessions, Balvinder encouraged them tremendously to play shots. In the same breath, director Apoorva Lakhia (one of the team members) said that the having the 1983's World Cup-winning cricketer as a coach helped them bring in a 'professional attitude' in the game.

Needless to say that, Sohail Khan's team (including the heavyweights like Salman, Suniel Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab and gang) will now have absolute winning reasons to look forward to this season of CCL.

SRK slapped with obscenity case

He may be the reigning King Khan of Bollywood but that doesn't deter those out for vengeance for what ever reason they have. It was common knowledge that Shah Rukh was recently in Kochi promoting his upcoming film Don 2. However, today the actor landed in a tight spot with the Kerala police which registered a case against the actor for violating the provisions of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986.

The case was filed on the complaint when SRK performed the track 'Chammak Challo' from the film Ra.One, along with some skimpily clad artistes which obviously ruffled a few feathers.

The Kerala Police have stated that the case has been registered not just against Shah Rukh but also the partners of a textile showroom he was inaugurating, who had organized the function.

Zilla Ghaziabad in legal trouble

Producer Vinod Bachchan's film Zilla Ghaziabad staring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi has run into legal trouble. A legal notice has been sent to Vinod and his production house Soundarya Films by Krishna Devi, wife of the alleged UP gangster Mahinder Singh Fauji to stop the film as it is reportedly based on Fauji's life.

Mahinder Singh Fauji was reportedly a UP gangster, who was killed in a gang war in Ghaziabad 15 years ago. As his family got to know that a film is being made called Zilla Ghaziabad, which is based on the gang wars of the 90's and Arshad Warsi plays the role of a character named Fauji, they decided to take immediate action.

Krishna Devi has petitioned the Delhi High Court to halt the film as they are worried it might show Fauji in bad light. However, Vinid Bachchan maintains that his film is a pure work of fiction.

Court to decide on damages payable if any by makers of Don 2 today

Even as Farhan Akhtar's eagerly awaited SRK starrer Don 2 opened across cinema halls in the U.K. yesterday and is all set for a worldwide release tomorrow (Dec 23), the makers are still awaiting the verdict whether they would have to pay any compensation based on the case filed against them by Nariman Films and the Irani Family (makers of the original Don)

Even though the Bombay High Court cleared the release of the film a decision on damages to be paid if any will be taken today by division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and justice Roshan Dalvi. Nariman Films and the Irani Family had claimed damages to the extent of Rs.200 crores for violating copyrights by adopting the Don signature tune, songs of the original Don and also copying its script, characters and music without prior intimation, further stating that the rights of the said script were given only for the remake and not for the sequel.

It remains to be seen if the makers of Don 2 have to cough up some amount as compensation, the decision of which would be taken later today.
