Riteish is simple: Genelia
February is going to be big for actress Genelia not only for personal but professional reasons!
The bride-to-be actress Genelia will tie the knot with her co-actor and long-time beau Riteish Deshmukh next month. Besides, their film, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is also releasing in February.
Talking about her fiancé, Genelia said: "I like the way Riteish is. He is a simple man at heart and a really spontaneous actor. Whenever he compered any award functions, I always thought that the gags were in the script, but now that I know him, I have realised that the gags are spur of the moment improvisations."
"We have been friends for a long time now. Love happened gradually. It was not realised in a day or two. We think our friendship went a little ahead and now we have decided to get married,” Genelia further said.

Bodyguard director opts for a fresh subject

Bodyguard
Bodyguard director opts for a fresh subject
Though everyone's rushing to make a remake, Siddique, the director of the Blockbuster hit Bodyguard, has no plans of attempting a remake next. "My next film boasts of a fresh subject," he informs me. In fact, Siddique had signed his next Hindi film much before Bodyguard hit the screens last year. "It will be produced by Shyam Bajaj and Narendra Bajaj," he states, "We have locked the script. The casting should be finalized this week."
Post Bodyguard, Siddique was flooded with film offers. "I have decided to put on hold the Tamil and Malayalam assignments that I was planning to make after Bodyguard. Everyone feels I need to follow up with a Hindi film, after delivering a Blockbuster hit. Else, people tend to forget your achievements if there's a long gap," he says. Will his new film star Salman Khan yet again? "I would love to work with him again and again and again. But he's too committed for the next few years. I would love to make another film with Salman, if the opportunity arises," Siddique says.

Kamal Haasan wants Shahrukh Khan for remake of his Tamil film

Kamal
Kamal Haasan wants Shahrukh Khan for remake of his Tamil film
Shahrukh Khan is in a dilemma. He has to choose between the remakes of two Tamil remakes, A R Murogadoss' Ramanna and Gautham Menon's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Both offer the picky superstar Khan a chance to do something he hasn't done before. A South Indian remake with parts that he hasn't tried before.
Says a source, "While Murugadoss' film casts SRK as a social crusader, Menon's film casts him as a cop, a role he has played just once in Shashilal Nair's One 2 Ka 4 and that too a plain-clothed cop. SRK has never got a chance to get into khaki uniform. This, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu will let him do."
Indeed, Gautham Menon informs that Shahrukh is the only choice for the Hindi remake of Vettaiyaadi Vilaiyaadi. Contrary to reports, Salman Khan is not up for consideration for the Hindi adaptation of the Gautham Menon's 2006 Tamil hit Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. It's Shahrukh Khan all the way. Apparently, the mighty Kamal Haasan who played the role of the cop on the lookout for a serial killer in Tamil original, has expressed a keen interest in Shahrukh playing the role in the film's Hindi version.
Says a source close to the project, "Kamalji is extremely fond of Shah Rukh. They go back a long way to the time when 12 years ago Shah Rukh agreed to do Kamalji's Hey Ram free of cost. When director Gautham Menon who understandably respects Kamalji's opinion asked the thespian who should play his role in the Hindi remake, Kamalji promptly gave Shahrukh's name."
So Shahrukh it is. Menon confirms this. Says the softspoken director, "I don't know where these reports of Salman Khan being an option for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu are coming from. It's Shahrukh Khan who's the first and only choice. Kamalji played the part in the Tamil original. So Shahrukh seems the right candidate for the part."
Kamal Haasan says, "Yes someone like Shahrukh would be right for the Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu remake."
Interestingly, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu would explore the same dark noire cop-killer space as Aamir Khan's Talaash.
A source close to the project tells us that the only reason Shahrukh has not given a final nod to Gautham Menon's remake is because he wants to see how Talaash is received by the audience.

‘Banned’ promo of Bittoo Boss cleared by Censors

Banned
'Banned' promo of Bittoo Boss cleared by Censors
After some tense moments that were spread for over almost a month, the makers of Bittoo Boss heaved a sign of relief as their promo was cleared by the Censor Board on Monday morning. The promo, which had to suffer the ignominy of being 'banned' with no reasons being stated whatsoever, came out unscathed once the revision committee saw it and felt that there was nothing objectionable in it that would have warranted a 'ban' per se. As things stand today, the promo has been granted a 'U/A' certificate.
"Once the promo of this film from the makers of Pyaar Ka Punchnama went viral on social network, there was nothing stopping it. In fact the word 'ban' only helped the film's popularity soar further. However, (producer) Abhishek Pathak and (director) Babul always wanted the blessing of Censor authorities in order to take the promotion forward the right way. They submitted the promo all over again to the Censor Board and had their hearts in their mouths before the verdict was announced. It was the moment of triumph once it was declared that the promo was free to be aired on television and further screened in theatres," informs a source attached to the production house.
The film's promo had earlier shocked the Censor authorities due to elements including 'meri bhi le le' and stuff alike (which basically referred to a picture being clicked). Also, the lyrics of 'Bittoo Sab Ki Lega' were feared to be way too risqué for the family audience. Once Kumar Mangat Pathak sat down with Abhishek and Babul, it was mutually decided that the lyrics would be tweaked a little while a couple of shots would be tailored. Even though the spicy-n-naughty elements in this Pulkit Samrat-Amita Pathak film still stayed intact, this time around, Censor authorities were more entertained than shocked.
Says Babul, "Our film is as real and healthy in entertainment as a Band Baaja Baaraat or a Munnabhai. Of course, it does need an audience with sense of humour. The producers, the entire crew, cast and myself as a storyteller are committed and all have a common purpose and intention in purity to reach out to the audiences & entertain them. By the end of it, the Censor Board would be thankful and happy for the film due to its emotions expressed as well as the feelings and thoughts stirred".
In the meantime, the producers are currently going through thoughts of a different kind. Apparently, their earlier plan of attaching the promo of Bittoo Boss with Agneepath have been quashed now since the Censor certificate has come too late in the day. Since the prints of the Hrithik Roshan starrer are already in the middle of a dispatch, Bittoo Boss has no other choice but to arrive in theatres independently.
Confirms Abhishek, "Yes, we are now working out the logistics to bring Bittoo Boss with Agneepath. Though Thursday is quite difficult, we are going all out to ensure that our promo hits the screens over the weekend at the least. Meanwhile on television, we would be out as well in a couple of days. While social networking has really helped us reach so far, now it is time for us to create some good momentum on conventional forums as well."

Gautham Menon re-launches Aditya Roy Kapur in Assi Nabey Poore Sau

Gautham
Gautham Menon re-launches Aditya Roy Kapur in Assi Nabey Poore Sau
Another Southern hottie Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to enter into Hindi cinema with Aditya Roy Kapur as her co-star.
Remember Aditya Roy Kapur? UTV's Siddharth and Delhi Belly actor Kunal Roy Kapur's curly-haired kid-brother made quite an impression with his two films Action Replay and Guzaarish in 2010. Thereafter, he vanished almost to the point of non-existence, not answering messages or phone calls.
It now turns out that the chuppa rustom Kapur has actually been busy in the South shooting for a Tamil-Telugu-Hindi tri-lingual being directed by Gautham Menon, in the news for his new Hindi film Ek Deewana Tha.
Gautham apparently has shot almost the entire film already. When asked about the project, the prolific Tamil-Telugu-Hindi director admitted, "Yes, I am working with Aditya Roy Kapur in a film that I am making in three languages Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The Hindi version with Aditya is called Assi Nabey Poore Sau."
While Roy Kapoor plays the lead in the Hindi version of this adventure-comedy-drama, Tamil superstar Jeeva and the Telugu star Nani play the lead in the other two versions of the film.
Interesting, Samantha whom Gautham Menon introduced in Tamil film in 2010 stars in all three versions of the film.
Says Menon, "I already have three different heroes in three different languages to deal with. In addition, three heroines would've been impossible to handle. So Samantha stars in all three languages."
The director says shooting a tri-lingual is like making three different films. "I do one shot with Aditya and then the same shot with Jeeva and Nani. We go through every shot three times over in exactly the same way. I've never done a film simultaneously in three languages."
About Aditya Roy Kapoor, Menon says, "I spotted him on the location for Vipul Shah's Action Replay. I immediately knew he was right for Assi Nabey Poore Sau."
Interestingly, the Roy boy has made headway on his own. Though his Bade Bhaiyya is the head honcho at UTV, it has been made clear to the ladla sibling that his corporate connections in Bollywood aren't going to get him roles.
Adds Gautham Menon, "At the moment my full focus is on the release of Ek Deewana Tha. It's simple old fashioned love story."

Sonal Chauhan fined by Mumbai Customs
Sonal Chauhan is the latest actress to have come under the scanner of the Mumbai Customs. The Jannat babe, who was returning from Macau after attending an awards function, tried to pass through the green channel but was stopped for questioning by the Mumbai Customs.
Sonal was intercepted for carrying high-end branded bags and not declaring her purchases. The actress had picked up the bags from Hong Kong international airport and thought she could get away without having to pay any duty. However, that was not to be and finally Sonal had to end up paying Rs.85,000 as a fine for evading duty after which she was allowed to go.
